    Description

The ASCP conference provides a forum to encourage, stimulate, and promote research in continental philosophy, broadly construed, recognising, and encouraging the pluralism at the heart of the Australasian philosophical community. The conference provides a broad intellectual forum for scholars working in diverse institutions, disciplines, and areas of inquiry, and encouraging productive and collegial relations between postgraduate students and professional academics and researchers.

The ASCP annual conference is the largest event devoted to continental philosophy in Australasia. The 2021 annual conference seeks to promote the interdisciplinary exchange of ideas inspired by the diverse traditions of continental philosophical thought broadly construed (such as critical race theory, phenomenology, existentialism, post-colonialism, gender studies, cultural theory, critical theory, hermeneutics, feminism, deconstruction, post-structuralism, literary theory and so on), and to consider the broad and rich ways that these traditions drive philosophical inquiry. In addition to the conference proper, there will be professional development sessions on a range of issues for professional academia, run by senior academics. We invite papers that explore any aspect of continental philosophy broadly construed, or papers that open a dialogue with continental philosophy.

The conference is planned to be a hybrid model of delivery with spaces for online presentations, and participation in-person at Bond University.
