Surfing for longevity: dissecting the health of surfers

This event will be presented by local and international experts presenting their research and experiences on a range of topics. Hear from speakers such as Biochemist Professor Jeff Nessler, from the USA about shoulder biomechanics and muscular EMG profiles in surfing. Exercise Physiologist, Associate Professor Mike Climstein will present research on Skin Cancer detection incorporating Artificial Intelligence. Ophthalmologist Ognjen Markovic will provide insight on Surfer’s Eye: Vision and Injury Prevention, and hear from the medical lead for the World Surfing League, Anaesthesiologist Allan Mackillop, presenting a Case Series from the World Surf League.
