Leading with AI Smart Investment Decisions for Small and Medium Business

Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talk

Description

Delivered an invited industry workshop for Queensland Leaders on practical and responsible AI adoption for small and medium businesses. The session focused on how leaders can make sound investment decisions by identifying suitable workflows, understanding organisational friction points, and building the conditions required for effective adoption, including staff capability, governance, workflow visibility, and change management. The workshop drew on recent national and international evidence, including CSIRO, Stanford HAI, Wharton Human-AI Research, MIT Project NANDA, and Boston Consulting Group, and translated these into practical guidance for business leaders. Interactive polling and a table-based activity were used to help participants identify one workflow, one friction point, and one sensible next action for their own organisation. The presentation emphasised that successful AI adoption is primarily a leadership, workflow, and change management issue rather than a tools issue alone.
